Five colors to keep your home warm this winter

At Paint Boy, we love design inspiration, and we're definitely inspired by the unique challenges of each season. One of the challenges everyone faces during sweater weather is how to keep their homes warm and cheerful, even after the holidays. We've picked out five interior colors that are just the right amount of trendy and classical, so you can keep enjoying them all year round.

1. The color of the year: Off-white

This year's most popular color is predicted to be a mellow version of our favorite neutral. Variations from four major color brands range from a soft white to an almost buttery shade. The key to using off-white is to make sure you don't veer too far into yellow or tan territory.

2. Benjamin Moore's 'Enchanted'

Moving to the cooler side of this year's palette, this fairy-tale is perfect for the private spaces in your home, such as your bedroom. The hue also looks great in smaller spaces like the bathroom or when used as an accent wall. The effect is clean, soothing and a bit romantic.

3. Behr's 'Black Pearl'

This luxurious color is a softer black to go with the softer whites that are so popular this year. Whether you use Black Pearl as a main color or keep it strategically as an accent, it's sure to make a bold statement. Try it on your window sills or on your floors for a surprisingly chic pop.

4. Sherwin Williams' 'Kind Green'

Sherwin Williams' 'Kind Green' is a silvery sea foam green that works virtually anywhere throughout the home. Use it in the bathroom for a zen-like spa experience, or put it in the bedroom or living room for a tranquil living space.

5. Olympic's "Blue Cloud"

Blue Cloud is Olympic's color choice for 2016, and is described as a "loud, celebratory blue" that resembles the ocean. PPG recommends pairing this shade with soft neutrals (off-white, anyone?), but this color would go great with bright primary colors in a child's bedroom as well.
